Ann Louise (Lauer) Lewis, 75, passed away unexpectedly after a medical emergency on Thursday November 16th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, IA, on July 21st, 1948, to Don and Dorothy (Peterson) Lauer.
Ann was a twin to Arthur; siblings Thomas and Nancy joined the family 5 and 10 years later (respectfully). Ann moved to Iowa City, IA, for nursing school where she also started her nursing career that would span over 40 years. She and John had two daughters, Kelly, and Amanda, and raised them in the Illinois Quad Cities. Later in life, she spent time in the Iowa Quad Cities and Arizona. She and her companion of 15 years, Tom, moved full time to Arizona in 2022.
Although Ann was known as a nurse in her professional career, her true legacy is her love of family and friends. She relished her time with Tom, her daughters and grandkids, and dog, Calvin. The relationships she developed throughout her lifetime brought out her true gift of bringing people together and making them feel welcome in any environment. She loved to travel, play pickleball, walk Calvin, and gather with family plus old and new friends alike.
She is survived by daughters Kelly (Jason Swartzendruber) and their kids Nicholas and Katherine, Amanda, and her kids Paul and Agnes, her siblings, Arthur, Thomas, and Nancy, and her companion Thomas Fedje.
Services were Sunday, November 19 at 3 p.m. at Lord of Life, 13724 W Meeker Blvd, Sun City West, AZ, 85375, with a reception at the Corte Bella Golf Club, 22129 N Misson Dr, Sun City West, AZ, 85375.
