Carol Elinor Huf

Carol Elinor Huf (nee Wiess) was born April 21, 1940.  She grew up in Milwaukee, WI and was brought into the faith through baptism and attended Emmaus Lutheran School. She graduated from Rufus King High School in 1958 and went on to attend a few years at Valparaiso University in Indiana. She met the love of her life, Walter F. Huf while in high school and then married him after college. They were married for 55 years until his death in 2016. Carol loved spending time with her family –sister, cousins, children, grandchildren and one great grandson too.  She also enjoyed doing tax returns and worked for H & R Block for over 30 years. She also had her own tax business in West Allis for many years when she wasn’t working with H & R Block. Carol enjoyed traveling with Wally throughout the United States and Canada. She would go anywhere in a car!  Another one of her loves was golf. She served in a volunteer capacity with the United States Golf Association for 25 years and on many WI State golf committees throughout the years. She officiated golf and played many rounds too.  In 2019 she moved to Arizona full time. A great joy of hers was spending time with family and riding around in her golf cart! She especially enjoyed going to church at Crown of Life and Lord of Life in Sun City West. She had a strong faith and left this life to be with Jesus in His eternal kingdom on Jan 30, 2023. She continually, “rejoiced in the Lord Always, and didn’t have anxiety about anything. She was definitely an example of having the peace of God which passes all understanding keeping her heart and mind on Christ Jesus!” (Phil 4: 4-7) She will be missed by her daughter, Mardell (Mardie) Timken and husband Mike; son- Walter A. Huf and wife Emily; Grandchildren – Sarah Lamont, Christine Lamont, Walter J. Huf, and Emily Huf. She was blessed with one great Grandson – Brooks Lamont Ankrom. She also enjoyed time with her step-sister- Janice Lange.  Her cousin – Beverly Fischer was a special friend who she got to spend a lot of time with in these past 3 years.   She is proceeded in death by her husband, Walter F. Huf, and her parents Florence Melcher Weiss and William Weiss.
