Marvin Lloyd Harding passed away on April 8th, 2024, in his residence at Sun City West at the age of 86. Born on September 30th, 1937 in Bowie, Colorado, Marv’s life was one marked by dedication, service and spirit.
Marv graduated from Paonia high school in 1955. Shortly after high school, he proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class. Marv furthered his education by attending Humboldt State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Most of his career was spent as a superintendent at State Farm Insurance Company before retiring.
In 1959 Marv married his lifelong love, Betty Malensek. Together they had a beautiful life rich in joy and love. Marv and Betty were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Therese and Coni, seven grandchildren: Jessica, Adam, Tirzah, Emily, Colby, Shane and Ana and four great grandchildren: Sienna, Harper, Reiner and Kieran. Marv was often surrounded by family, who all loved being around him.
Marv enjoyed getting out on the golf course, barbecuing, watching any and all sports and spending time with his loving family. Marv leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his wife; his children; his grandchildren, his great grandchildren; and a numerous amount of family and friends that will continue to walk in the light of his wisdom. Marvin "Marv" Harding will be deeply missed but the impact he made will continue to strengthen and encourage all who knew him. His life was well-lived, full of purpose, joy, and an abundance of love.
