Carmen Bryant, age 72, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, on her birthday, at her residence in Sun City West, Arizona. She was born on January 22nd, 1951, to Raymond and Arlene Jolly in Bethany, Missouri. At 11 years old, Carmen accepted her Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and devoted the rest of her life to Jesus. She attended King City, Missouri, High School where she graduated in 1969. She attended college at Missouri Western College, in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she earned an associate degree after two years.
On June 13th, 1971, Carmen married Jerry Bryant, her high school sweetheart, in Berlin, Missouri. Carmen worked as the head of bookkeeping in two different commercial banks during her first few years of marriage, until her first child was born. She was active in church all her life including roles as a pianist during services for over 15 years and she also led Awana’s club. Carmen lived for her children and also enjoyed watching her kids’ sports, going on cruises and RV’ing. She was an inspiration to many people during her lifetime including her 45 years of illness.
Carmen is survived by her loving spouse of 51 years, Jerry; three children, Jeremy and Kelly Bryant, Jared and Skye Bryant and Chrissy and Nick Spencer; seven grandchildren, Alexandria, Jordan, Genevieve, Taylor, Penelope, Cole and Haidyn; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Arlene Jolly.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 3rd at Grand Community Baptist Church at 18350 N. Goldwater Ridge Drive, Surprise, Arizona starting at 9:45 am followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am. A luncheon will then be provided by the Bryant family at the church followed by a procession to the Graveside Service at West Resthaven Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.
