Obituary

Earl “Wayne” Martin, 92, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on September 13, 2022. He was born on March 16, 1930, in Ervin Township, Howard County, Indiana. He was the son of Ross L. and Goldia M. (Crawford) Martin. On November 22, 1950, he married Carol Anne McCoy of Russiaville, Indiana, who survives. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Bette Butcher, Maxine Duke and Evelyn Hahn. Also surviving are son Greg (Patty) Martin of Avon, Indiana; daughter Karen Martin of Surprise, Arizona; son Doug (Danita Lively) Martin of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Wayne graduated from Ervin Township School in 1948. He worked in the automotive industries in Kokomo until 1953. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves. He accepted a position as an Indiana Conservation Officer in July 1953. He worked for several years in Crawford, Tipton and Howard Counties, retiring on April 1, 1990 after over thirty-six years of service. After their retirement, Wayne and Carol moved to Surprise, Arizona, where they have resided since.

Services will be at Stout and Son, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979.
Visitation is Thursday, September 22, 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Funeral service is Friday, September 23, 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery, 1050 W 00 NS, Howard County.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Main Street Christian Church, 220 W. Main Street, Russiaville, IN, 46979.
