Eugene Conlee Boley of The Heritage, Sun City West, AZ died Monday, November 6, 2023, at home. A son of the late Ira Everett Boley and Olive Conlee Boley. He graduated from Fort Madison High School in Fort Madison, Iowa. He later attended and graduated from both the University of Iowa and Iowa State. Gene is a veteran of the Korean War conflict, having served his whole tour of duty in Fort Knox, Kentucky. On August 19, 1950, he married the love of his life, Charlotte Zimmerman Boley. Together they became world-wide travelers and adventurers. She died May 14, 2023. Gene was known for his entrepreneurial skills when he invented and developed Electro Clean. A silver cleaning machine used in retail establishments throughout the nation. He had a rich and rewarding career as a Certified Gemologist of the American Gemological Society, and later retired as Vice President of Bromberg's, Birmingham, Alabama. While there he served a generation and excelled in his many roles: store manager, branch supervisor, leader of Underwood's, diamond buyer, Vice President of the Company. Gene is survived by two daughters, Susan Faye Roberts and spouse David of Star City, AR, and Janice Conlee Roberts and spouse Michael of Surprise, AZ. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
