Harvey Weavers Obituary

Sun City West, Arizona - Harvey Glenn Weavers, 92, died October 26, 2023 due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Glenn was proceeded in death by his high school sweetheart, Marjorie Weavers; they would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in December.

Glenn was born in Manitowoc, WI, the middle child of Harvey and Lillian Weavers. A member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity, Glenn graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1953 with a B.S. degree in Food & Diary Science. He served as a Company Commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Korea, from 1953-55. After leaving the Army, he and Margie moved to New York City where Glenn worked at Kraft Foods. Four years later he was recruited by Economics Laboratory, where he served in various roles in numerous locations, ultimately becoming the Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1979, Glenn, Margie, and their daughter Lisa, began a new adventure when Glenn and Margie purchased an oil industry-related business in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where they lived until they retired in 1994. They then relocated to Sun City West, Arizona.

In retirement, Glenn gave generously of his time, serving as a neighborhood Block Watch Captain, organizing golf charity events, and volunteering for Sun Health. He served as President of the Sun Health Foundation, helped launch the Pickles and Ice Cream tours of the hospital’s Maternity Unit, and received numerous awards for his volunteerism. Glenn and Margie led a delegation to Washington, D.C., where they helped lobby for the Medicare Advantage program and met with then-president George W. Bush.

Glenn had a wide range of interests. He rode horses with this daughter Lisa, traveled, played golf, was a member of the Sun City West Sportsman Club, enjoyed fixing everything in their home, and often volunteered to help neighbors with their projects, too. Glenn combined Midwestern nice with a hearty sense of humor and a playful approach to life. He was quick with a funny story or a prank, creating a treasure trove of fond memories for his friends and family members.

In addition to his wife Margie, Glenn was proceeded in death by his older sister, Joan Langdon and younger brother Mark Weavers. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Jenkins (Richard, deceased) of Durham, NC, and nieces and nephews; Claudia Lowthian (Richard) of Oxford, MI, William Langdon (Patti) of Yorba Linda, CA, Mary Wescott (Greg) of Lake Mills, WI, Robert Langdon (Lisa) of DeForest, WI, and Linda Sivilotti (Paul) of Upper Arlington, OH.
