James Edward Hannibal

James was born to the late Ernestine Prince and the late Willie Lee Hanible.  James was one of 15 children. He was preceded in death by 13 of his brothers and sisters. He was born and raised in Plano, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Hill Chapel CME Church in Plano, Texas. In 1955, James joined the United States Navy where he served for 20 years. On November 20th, 1959, James married Dorothy Johnson, the love of his life. During his Naval career, he spent time overseas. He was stationed many places, including Long Beach CA, Bremerton WA, Treasure Island, San Francisco, and Mare Island, Vallejo, CA. He retired from the Navy in 1975, but he continued to work at Mare Island as a pipefitter in the shipyard for many years. James had 4 children. He was preceded in death by his sons Ricky and James junior.  He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Dorothy, daughters Rosaland Hannibal, Elwena Rifen(Doug), his sister Georgia Simmons of Richmond, CA , 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends, including his lifelong friends from the USN.
