Jean Louise (Harvey) Kettering

Jean Louise Kettering, longtime resident of Sun City West, AZ, passed Saturday morning, April 30, 2022. Jean, beloved mother, was born to Clara and Wayne Harvey April 1, 1929 in Manchester, SD. Following graduation from Brookings High School and while working as a secretary, she married Dwight Kettering of Brentford, SD in April 1951. They raised three sons. Dwight worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the family lived in Pine Ridge and Eagle Butte, SD and Ft. Defiance, AZ. Jean worked for the Arizona and New Mexico Cooperative Extension services and was involved in the 4H programs, which she particularly enjoyed. She and Dwight moved from Gallup, NM to Sun City West to enjoy retirement together in 1993. Jean enjoyed horses, gardening, dancing and Wii bowling during her later years. She is survived by three sons, Jeff (Mavis) of Gilbert, AZ; Kent (Lynn, deceased) of Washougal, WA; and Orin (Denise) of Gallup, NM. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kari, Collin, Aaron and Andrew and five great grandchildren, Sydney, August, Sander, Eva and James. Jean was preceded in death by Dwight and a grandson Rob. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 16th 2022, at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society.
