Kenneth W Elayer “Sonny” 89, aka “Sonny my Honey” passed away on 04/18/22 at home with his wife by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Effie Elayer, his brothers, Buss Elayer and Vernon Elayer, and his sisters Dorothy Twidall and Ada Segall.
He is survived by his wife Linda Lou Elayer of the home. Son Charles “Rusty” Faircloth and wife Laura, of Mountain Home Idaho. Daughter Terri Lynn Simpson and husband Mark of Hallsville Missouri. Daughter Kimberly Sue Hathoot and husband Shawn of Pensacola Florida. Sisters Mary Ellen Yancey and Alice Joe Bennett of Houston Texas. 16 Grandkids, 10 great grandkids, and 1 great-great grandkid. He had many nieces and nephews.
Sonny was raised in Patterson Missouri. He joined the US Navy on 08/10/1951 and was Honorably Discharged on 08/08/1955. He served on the USS Baltimore, as a Boatswain’s Mate 2.
He was the owner of Sonny’s Auto Body Shop in Springfield Missouri until July of 1987 when him and Linda retired and moved to Arizona. Sonny loved being retired and loved to travel. They went on many cruises and RV trips, and way too many road trips to count.
He loved his kids a lot.
He loved to go to church and loved old time gospel music. Linda played gospel music for him the last 3 days of his life.
