Leroy “Lee” Nagel, was born on October 31, 1929 and on January 16, 2022 passed away at the age of 92. He was born in Chicago and spent the last 30 years as a resident of Sun City West, Az. making many new friends. He worked as a printer for 40 years. Lee was kind, warm, loving and friendly to everyone. Lee was funny and enjoyed a good joke. He enjoyed meeting new people and always willing to lend a helping hand. When they retired to Arizona, they learned square dancing and bowled on leagues for 28 years. Lee was a member of the Energetic Exercise club for 30 years. He loved playing cards and was a member of Card 52 Club. He also had a passion for stain glass and watching his two grandsons compete in wrestling. He took up golf later in life and became an avid golfer, even shooting a hole-in-one.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Grabinski), they were married on June 30, 1951. Lee and Joyce celebrated their 70th anniversary last year, He was the loving father of daughter Debbie Nason and the late Donna Nagel Turnbough (Joe), proud grandfather of Ben (Mandy) Gerdes and great-grandfather of Kate, Owen and Molly Gerdes, grandfather of the late Ken Gerdes III.
His loving deceased mother and father had nine children. Proceeding Lee in death were, Dorothy, Harold, Herman, Violet, Blanche, Melvin, Pearl, and Blossom, loving uncle to 31 nieces and nephews and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Lee will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His family invites you to a Celebration of his life on January 24, 2022, at 2:00PM, at the Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W Camino del Sol, Sun City West. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to one of Lee’s favorite charities; Arizona Humane Society, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Food Bank
