"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."
Matthew 11: 28-30
Linda Chaney was our dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born in Paris, TX on June 29, 1941. She was called home on Christmas Eve 2021. She was proceeded in death by both parents, Hugh and Edith (Houston) Chaney and her two siblings, Juanita Chumbley and Hugh Chaney, Jr. She married Charles Phillips and they had a daughter, Elena. She later married Guy Wiedler. She moved to Arizona in 2019 to answer a calling from God to help start Asante Church. She was honored to be able to have Mommow school with her great granddaughter, Mackenzie each Wednesday and as often as Brookelyn was available. She left behind her daughter, Elena Dennis, and grandson and family, Alex Dennis, Rachel Dennis, Brookelyn Dennis, and Mackenzie Dennis.
Linda was known for her loving heart. She was a woman of compassion. She had the ability to talk to someone and make them feel like they were the only person in the world. She always knew just what to say. She offered comfort and peace to so many. The love she poured out for others came from an overflow of the love she had for Jesus. We take comfort in the fact that her race has been run to completion and that she now stands in the glorious presence of our heavenly Father. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Asante Church's benevolence resources. Linda was known for her generosity and always making sure others needs were met behind the scenes.
