Marlyce Reppy Obituary

In loving memory of Marylce Yvonne Reppy “Bobbi Owens”, who left us on March 2, 2024, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family. Bobbi Owens was a remarkable individual, a wife, mother, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur whose life was an inspiring journey. Born November 30th, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to Mary George and Edward Owens and they preceded her in death.

Bobbi was a mother of eight, and her fierce dedication to her children knew no bounds. She was not one to mess with when it came to her kids, and she would move mountains to ensure their well-being. Her love for her family was unparalleled, having been married to Gene Reppy for an incredible 48 years. Their union, forged just 13 days after they met, stood as a testament to their deep connection.

Bobbi was a force of nature—funny, business-like, and loving. She played a pivotal role as Gene's rock, guiding their family through the years with intelligence and unwavering support. Known for her exceptional talent, she transitioned from being a waitress to a renowned singer. In Nashville, she worked as an on-staff writer for Tree Publishing and traveled the road as a country music singer, rubbing shoulders with icons like James Brown, Jim Ed Brown, George Jones, Charlie Pride, Bill Anderson, and even dated Frank Sinatra Jr for 2 ½ years.

Her vibrant life was marked by over-the-top enthusiasm and an ability to throw herself into everything she did. Bobbi was an unbelievable cook, delighting Gene's taste buds, and enjoyed quiet moments for reading and learning. Her interests spanned from sewing to beading, showcasing her creativity.

Bobbi's confidence was infectious, and she never shied away from challenges. From managing Gene to making impactful decisions for her family, she carried herself with grace and determination. Her deep faith was reflected in her study of the Bible, and she trusted in the Lord throughout her life.

In her memory, let's celebrate the incredible woman who lived an exciting life, making a mark in the music industry, managing a club, and leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Bobbi Owens will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and an extraordinary soul who embraced life with open arms. May she rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, talent, and boundless love.

Bobbi is loved and remembered by her children: Steven Lowe, Pamela Hardabeck, David Lowe, Gary Reppy, Michael Reppy (Norma), Matthew Reppy, Kevin Reppy (Niki), and Dina Reppy.
