October 13, 1946 ~ July 22, 2023 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Obituary

Mary Esther Mroszak Kocha joyfully went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2023, in Sun City West, Arizona. Mary was born on October 13, 1946, daughter of Lorraine and Raymond Mroszak in St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul in 1964, and moved to Steven's Point, WI after graduating from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, in 1968.

In Stevens Point she began her 34-year teaching career, spending her entire career teaching junior high history. She met her dear husband, Jim Kocha, while teaching at Ben Franklin junior high. They both transferred to PJ Jacobs in 1972 and spent the remainder of their teaching years at PJ. Early in her teaching, she went on to earn her MA from the University of Superior in Secondary Educational Administration.

Mary spent many happy years teaching before retiring in 2002. Jim and Mary moved to Sun City West, Arizona in 2005 because of Jim’s health. Arizona life was filled with joy and meeting many wonderful new friends. Calligraphy West, MacsWest, and Mac-Cro-Knit were clubs that kept Mary busy, happy, and surrounded by friends. Jim passed away on April 2, 2010. Mary found love again and married Edward Pisacich in 2016. Together they lived out their “last chapter” of life at the Colonnade in Surprise, AZ.

Mary is survived by her husband, Edward Pisacich, brother, Roger St. Paul, MN, Sister-in-laws Jean (Ken) Holtz, Sun City West, AZ, and Mary Kocha, Menominee Falls, WI, along with dear nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jim, and her sister-in-law, Sue.

Services will be held at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, Sun City West on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 10:30AM. Her remains will join her first husband Jim in the Lord of Life Columbarium.

Memorials may be sent to the Central WI Foundation, James Robert Kocha Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1501 Clark Street, PO BOX 968, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
