Norman Betzer of Surprise and Sun City West, AZ died at age 93 on February 21, 2024. He was born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois to Norman A and Marie Betzer. After graduating from Glenbard High School, Norman studied agriculture in college, then entered the armed forces. He served in the Korean War, working with communications.
Norman wed Marylin Roman in 1975 and they resided in Arlington Heights, Illinois until retirement. Norman continued in an established career at IBM that lasted nearly four decades.
After their retirement and move to Arizona, he enjoyed monitoring at the metal club in Sun City West.
Norman was known frequently by family, friends, and caretakers, as a Gentleman's Gentleman. His chivalry will be forever remembered and cherished by all.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas Betzer. He is survived by his beloved wife Marylin, his sister June Learner of Illinois, sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and dear friends and neighbors.
Services were held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City West under the direction of Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center. Norman’s remains are inurned at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
