Pat Knaus ,72, passed away peacefully in his home May 4. Pat touched many lives with his kind and caring heart. His 50-year career began in Kimball, MN in the family-owned sausage business. This provided him the opportunity to grow and develop his business and customer service skills which ultimately allowed him the opportunity to open and manage a grocery store in Maple Lake, MN for the business. Pat’s sense for adventure and interest in learning new things led him to Minneapolis working in the hospitality and residency businesses in the downtown area. Pat was always looking for opportunities to improve services and make the businesses run more smoothly but was humble and preferred to share his ideas versus taking on management roles when they were offered. Pat, at this time, developed a passion for travel and loved trips to Europe as well as exploring the warm, sunny beaches of Hawaii, Florida. and Mexico. 20 years ago, Pat once again took up roots and decided to move to the beautiful state of Arizona to join some close friends. He bought a house in an active adult community and got a job working as a Patient Transporter at a local community hospital which he worked at until his retirement. He loved serving patients and trying to make difference in lives with his kindness and humor. Pat was particularly grateful for the visits and support from his sisters Diane and Suzette, and nieces Paulette and Rhonda. The love of his life was his miniature schnauzer, Panda. She opened up opportunities to meet the neighbors who fell in love with the both of them, and were there not only for the fun times but also the challenging times before his passing, particularly Betty and Byron, Nancy D, Barb, Nancy N, and June. Pat was a remarkably kind and caring person who touched the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed.
