Ruth Carolyn (Morton) Pappas

Ruth Morton Pappas, 105, resident Sun City West passed away in her sleep on August 23, 2023.  She is survived by her son David Pappas, also of Sun City West. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Christos Pappas in 2015.

Ruth was youngest of four children by Seth and Nellie Morton. Her brothers Nelson and Herbert and sister, Helen Simpson have preceded her in death.  They were raised in the small town of Albion in upstate New York. She attended Roberts Wesleyan College outside Rochester New York. During the war she worked at Kodak packaging film for use by the military. After marriage she worked off and on doing clerical until she became medical office manager. Upon retirement Ruth and Chris moved to Sun City West to avoid east coast winters and be closer to their son in Palm Springs, CA. When her son David retired, he moved to Sun City West to be closer to his parents.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Ardis Simpson Tucker, Fletcher Simpson, Fred Morton, Ray Morton, Mary Lou Morton Bates, John Morton, Carol Morton Ergott, Cheryl Morton Babcock, Edgar Morton and Susan York Hines.  Preceding her are Alfred Morton and Alice Morton.

Services for Ruth will be on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Willowbrook United Methodist Church 19390 N. 99th Ave, Sun City, AZ.
