Scott Michael Hain (60) of Prescott, AZ, passed away on September 8, 2022, from complications of kidney disease.
Scott was born on May 17, 1962, in Sioux City, Iowa, and adopted by George and Elaine Hain on May 22, 1962, in Lincoln, NE. He graduated from Pius X High School in Lincoln, and earned his bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. His career in the food and beverage industry led him to various locales, from Colorado to Utah to Arizona (his favorite) giving family and friends many great vacation experiences.
Scott was a fan of most any sport, having his preferred teams in both the college and professional ranks, but the Huskers remained his favorite. He enjoyed hiking, especially in the Utah parks and around Prescott, AZ. Lake Powell was also high on his list of great places to be. He had a heart for animals and would have taken in every stray dog that came his way if he'd had the space. He also loved and supported local musicians wherever he happened to be working, and passed his respect for Frank Sinatra to his niece!
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Hain. He is survived by girlfriend Jan McKinney, son Joe McCarty and granddaughter Emma, father George Hain, sister Anne Buckley (Dave), nephew Chris and nieces Sarah and Kate, along with a slew of cousins and friends from all over the country.
Although no formal funeral is planned, friends are encouraged to gather in their respective parts of the country and have whatever celebration of Scott's life that seems fitting. Memorial gifts can be made to the Yavapai Humane Society, 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ, 86301.
