Sheri L. (Savage) Mathews

Sheri L. Mathews, age 72, of Glendale, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. She was born on April 1, 1950, to the late Jesse Lee and Juva F. (Topliffe) Savage in Westfield, NY. Sheri attended Mayville Central, N.Y. graduating in 1968, then furthered her education at C.C.B.I in Syracuse, N.Y. graduating class of 1969 obtaining her degree in Secretarial Sciences. On April 18, 1970, she married William “Bill” O. Mathews in Mayville, N.Y. Sheri worked as an Administrative Assistant for Welch Foods in the Purchasing Department. She was a member of Eastern Stars. She enjoyed people, and in particular her grandkids. It has been said that she has never meet a stranger.

Sheri is survived by her loving spouse of 52 years, Bill; two children, Stacey and her husband, Rich McClellan, her grandkids, Mackenzie and Cody Tanner, and her son, Darryl Mathews; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her two siblings, Terry Savage and Maren Green, brother and sister, and parents, Jesse and Juva Savage.

Memorial services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sheri’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
