Thomas Lowell Stock, 91, died at his home in Sun City West on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Tom was born in Woodstock, Illinois, to George and Viola Stock on August 2, 1932, and lived in Woodstock until he joined the United States Air Force in January of 1952. He was stationed at Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York, and Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois, before leaving for the Korean conflict in 1954, as a Sergeant.
Upon his return in 1956 he met and married Marlene Walsh of Newburgh, New York, and they returned to Illinois where he was employed by United Parcel Service for 30 years. Upon his retirement in 1998, they moved to Prescott Valley, AZ, and then to Sun City West in 2004.
In recent years, Tom enjoyed being outside, riding his bicycle around the neighborhood, and attending bible studies with Pastor Brian. He was looking forward to living in his new home at Fellowship Square. He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Stock, of Loves Park, IL, a grandson, Michael Stock of Verona, WI, his sister, Nancy Chiles from Waco, TX, and many nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ (Main entrance is off of Pinnacle Peak), at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom’s honor can be sent to Palm West Community Church, 13845 W. Stardust Blvd., Sun City West, AZ, 85375, Attention: Pastor Brian Thomas.
