Willadean Hirsch, 92, passed away December 20, 2021, in Surprise, Arizona. Willadean was born on October 23, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado to the late William C. and Edith Eleanor (Twombly) Porter. Willadean enjoyed life to the fullest. She made friends everywhere she went. She and her soulmate Bob Hirsch loved friends, traveling around the world, and playing a whole lot of golf. Willadean was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children. Her grandchildren put a twinkle in her eye. Our mother was the strongest woman ever. She wasn't afraid of anyone or anything. She was a fierce “Mama Bear”. Willadean taught school for 20 years in Pueblo’s District 60, 1st grade through 3rd grade, before retiring and moving to Sun City West. Willadean was active in the Advent Episcopal Church in Sun City West. Preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Hirsch (2002), Edwin K. McMartin (1998), John R. Titman (1952) and son, William T. McMartin (2003). Survived by her loving family of two daughters, MaryEllen (Jim) Blasing and Louanne McMartin, special daughter-in-law Linda Dever, seven grandchildren, along with eight great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her, and her tenacity, wit, charm, and grace will never be forgotten.
Services will be held at Advent Episcopal Church, 13150 W. Spanish Garden Drive, Sun City West, AZ 85375 on January 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Her ashes will be placed in the church’s columbarium next her late husband Robert T. Hirsch. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
